SUMMARY:Fall Meeting
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Fall Cleanup will be Saturday Oct 23rd with a rain date of the 24th. This year’s cleanup will consist of the following: \n• Washrooms washed. We’ll need a generator and a pressure washer.\n• New Flight stations built and the fence behind the flight station removed.\n• Flight stations will be built out of abs pipe and made in a way they can be removed/lifted and stored in the trailer over the winter. We will pre-buy the ABS pipe and glue.\n• New plastic snow fence and some of the steel posts repaired.\n• The road looks great but maybe a walk to clean up any branches\n• Cleaning of the trailer. Garbage\, expired propane tanks\, recycling to be taken away. Trevor has offered to bring his trailer for this.\n• Someone with a lightweight vehicle and a good radio to roll the runway. I will bring the hitch for the roller. Will fit in a 2 inch receiver. \nI’ll send an email a few days before to confirm who is bringing tools\, material\, lunch\, etc.to make sure we’re covered for all of the tasks. We’ll aim to start at 9AM sharp and deploy teams to the various tasks as in past years. \nIf you have any topics to discuss at the meeting\, please let me know and we’ll add them to the agenda for the noon meeting. DESCRIPTION:The Ottawa Valley Giant Scale Event in Kingston\, Ontario has been running for 31 years now\, and has become the largest Giant Scale event in Canada and one of the largest in North America\, drawing pilots from Ontario\, Quebec and the Northern United States. DESCRIPTION:Zone G – 2019 12th annual Ottawa Valley Giant Scale Warm-up \nTime to limber up the thumbs and get ready for another great year of Giant Scale RC modelling. Come on out to the Arnprior RC Club for a relaxed day of flying your new or tried-and-true Giant Scale plane. Our 800 foot grass strip field with the sun at your back and sheltered pilot area is the best way to tune up your flying skills or maybe share some helpful tips with others for their first flights. This is a great way for new GS pilots to get started with plenty of helpful veterans on hand. \nAs always\, there will be a BBQ lunch available as well as a few prizes at the end of the day. Spectators are always welcome. DESCRIPTION:The ARCC’s family fun fly and pot luck is one of our most successful and most fun events year after year. Don’t miss out on the amazing food and flying all day at the club. It’s a great opportunity to show case our hobby to family and friends. Not to mention the pot luck style food is to die for. Each year the members out do themselves with even better mid day meal. \n\n9 am Flying starts\n12 pm Pot Luck\n\nDon’t forget to bring your trainers as in the past we do a Kadet Krazy flight with multiple trainers in the air at one time. SUMMARY:Glider Aero Tow
DESCRIPTION:The Greater Ottawa Aero-Tow group will host its annual aero-tow fun fly at the Arnprior RC Club field on 8 and 9 September 2018. Flying will begin at 09:30 each day\, weather permitting\, but talking about aero-towing will begin much earlier\, rain or shine. While this is a pretty informal get-together\, current MAAC or AMA membership is required. Spectators are encouraged to drop by to chat\, take some pictures or just hang out. Coffee\, lunch\, and plenty of water will be provided for a registration fee of $15.00 for the weekend and Saturday evening will feature a no-host dinner gathering – where more talking about flying (and other things) can take place. \nThe Arnprior RC Club field is located a half-hour west of Ottawa\, Ontario\, Canada and features a 750 foot-long grass runway with plenty of surrounding bailout area. DESCRIPTION:This is our 11th annual Giant Scale Warm-Up an what a better way to start your year than to have a relaxed day of flying your new or tried-and-true Giant Scale plane. Our 800 foot grass strip field with the sun at your back and sheltered pilot area is the best way to tune up your flying skills or maybe share some helpful tips with others for their first flights. As always\, there will be a BBQ lunch available as well as a few prizes at the end of the day. \nWhat qualifies as Giant Scale: Monoplane of 80” or greater Biplane of 60” or greater Jets of 140” combined length and wingspan or greater Any plane that is 1/4 scale or greater.
